Winning floats announced

Thousands of residents lined Main Street in downtown Pontotoc Monday night to enjoy the 60th Christmas Parade and the hands down overall winner was the mild temperature.

“Weather-wise it was one of the most enjoyable nights ever and the parade went off without any big problems,” praised Ellen Russell, Pontotoc Chamber/Main Street Director.

“We thank everyone who participated because it takes a lot of work to be in the parade and thanks to everyone who worked the parade,” Russell said.

Special guests included 2012 Miss Mississippi Marie Wicks, grand marshalls Billy Quay Montgomery and Martha Jo Coleman (Pontotoc’s Man and Woman of the Year) and resident Dot Hardin, who has witnessed all 60 of Pontotoc’s parades.
